A Treasure Trove of Gilbert and Sullivan

The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston will be holding auditions March 17 &18 for its summer production of Trial by Jury and favorite scenes from Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe and Yeoman of the Guard! All are invited to audition for principal or chorus roles (the role of the Learned Judge will be performed by Alistair Donkin). An accompanist will be provided.

PRINCIPAL AUDITIONS: Please refer to the information at the link for required music/dialogue for each role. No additional music or monologue is necessary. Please bring a copy of your own music. Please fill out the audition form at the link and bring it with you to the audition.

CHORUS AUDITIONS: Please choose from the minor role repertoire at the link or prepare a song- preferably from the Gilbert & Sullivan repertoire. Please bring a copy of the music for the accompanist if you choose to prepare your own song. Please fill out the audition form at the link and bring it with you to your audition.

All auditionees must be at least 18 years of age or have graduated from high school.

There is one music rehearsal in April and one music rehearsal in May. Beginning the first week of June, rehearsals are tentatively scheduled to run Monday, Wednesday, Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
