About Us:

Charles Court Opera was formed in 2005 by John Savournin as a platform for young talent, starting life at the Rosemary Branch Theatre in Islington.  Now in its sixth year, CCO has produced over 25 stage productions across the UK and abroad, in venues ranging from pub theatres to National Concert Halls, travelling to France, Ireland, Spain and the USA.  They are now respected as one of the most exciting and diverse young opera and theatre companies, producing a wide range of work including their critically acclaimed G&S productions, grand opera, musicals, contemporary music events, education projects and their legendary 'off-piste' boutique pantomimes.

Unique to the company is their collaboration with Park Lane Young Artists the Eaton-Young Piano Duo (Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, St-Martin-in-the-fields) who arrange the orchestral scores complete for piano four hands or two pianos, thereby allowing performances in venues previously inaccessible for opera and introducing them to wider audiences without having to compromise the musical substance.
