D'Oyly Carte Opera Company will return to production in 2013, in a production of The Pirates of Penzance, a co-production with Scottish Opera. D'Oyly Carte's Music Director, John Owen Edwards will conduct, and Martin Lloyd-Evans will direct. The production will be designed by Jamie Vartan, choreographed by Steve Elias, with lighting design by Colin Grenfell. Performances will commence in Glasgow, at the Theatre Royal, on Wednesday 15th May, 2013, with His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen from Thursday 23rd May, the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh from Tuesday 28th May and Eden Court Theatre, Inverness from Thursday 6th June. D'Oyly Carte Opera Company continues to operate a busy Music Hire Library, which supplies the orchestral parts for all Gilbert and Sullivan operas to professionals, amateur societies, festivals and educational bodies. The D'Oyly Carte Archive maintains an important collection of materials relevant to the performing company and Gilbert and Sullivan going back to 1875. The archive is accessible to those with an interest at a small cost and by private arrangement.
