Farcical comedy by W S Gilbert (and some music by Mr Sullivan)
"This richly enjoyable play" The Daily Telegraph
"The decorous and the refined provide a light cover for strategic lunacy" New York Times
"You can't help falling for its charms. It is a while since I have laughed out loud quite so frequently in the theatre" The Guardian
On the Scottish borders in the 1870s, the canny locals augment their economy by derailing express trains from London. Into this wanders wealthy bachelor Cheviot Hill, a man incapable of meeting a pretty young woman without proposing to her. Within minutes he has proposed to one and accidentally married another.
Engaged is a marvellous farcical comedy written by one half of the "Gilbert and Sullivan" duo.
Suitable for ages 11+
