Auditions for Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society October 12th & 13th production of THESPIS will take place:
- TUESDAY, MAY 14TH, 7PM-9PM
- SUNDAY, MAY 19TH, 6PM-8PM
Those who are trying out for one of the principal roles in the show must audition; both singing something (preferably from a G&S show) and doing one or more readings. Remember to bring sheet music for our accompanist.
If you have sung/performed with us before, and are not trying out for one of the principal roles and would like to be in our chorus, you do not need to audition.
Please reply to John Freedman (firstname.lastname@example.org) to let us know if you are intending to join our chorus. The size of our women's and men's choruses has a bearing on a number of things in working out the details of staging the show including blocking, choreography, and costuming. When you reply please cc John Dreslin email@example.com and Spencer Reese firstname.lastname@example.org.
- The roles of Tipseion, Preposteros, Stupidas, and Cymon do not have any solo singing. But they do have important speaking parts. If you are a chorus member interested in trying out for one of these roles you must audition. If you have sung with us before you will not have to sing at auditions to try out for one of these parts. But we will want you to do a reading.
- Our first rehearsal will be Sunday, June 23.
