Garstang Musical Productions is a friendly and lively amateur musical theatre group that performs a vast array of shows and concerts.
We have been delighting our local community audiences for over 25 years and past productions have included Guys & Dolls, Me & My Girl, The King & I and Little Shop of Horrors to name a few.
We aim to perform two productions a year and still have time to arrange theatre trips and social evenings.
The group meets on a Thursday evening at 7.30 pm at the Arts Centre and we warmly welcome new members, performers and helpers alike!

Garstang Light Opera Group was formed in 1986; it was a small company then and now having renamed the group as Garstang Musical Productions to better reflect the trend in our activities, we have a cast and support team of over 40 people, plus Friends of the Society.
Tony Hindle, who had been involved with a number or local groups considered there was room for something other than a straight singing society, and thus Garstang Light Opera Group or GLOG, was created.
Their first performance in 1986 was of a show they called The Olde Thyme Music Hall, held in St Thomas’s Church Hall.
Several of the performers in this picture taken by The Garstang Courier are still very active with the present group.
Years later, after the company had developed both musical and theatrical confidence and with the influx of fresh talent to supplement the existing performers, bolder productions ensued, culminating in highly acclaimed performances in recent years, when even the men proved they could dance on stage and even keep time to the music!
So much for then and now. Over the years approximately a quarter of performances have been GIlbert and Sullivan shows, a similar number being presentations of Broadway and West End blockbusters with the remainder as concerts developed and arranged by our own talent.
Thus more than 60 shows have been staged since the original performance of “The Olde Thyme Music Hall”
