The Plymouth Gilbert & Sullivan Fellowship are the UK's oldest performing company dedicated to the works of W.S. Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan. We produce one fully staged production each year (not just limited to G&S) and present several concerts throughout the South West.
We are the proud winners of several NODA Awards for our outstanding productions and in 2010 made our debut at The International Gilbert&Sullivan Festival, Buxton.
We competed with a traditional version of Ruddigore and achieved nominations in six categories winning 'Best Traditional Opera' and 'Best Male Voice'. During the festival, we were filmed by Sky Arts for a 10-minute documentary. Described by SkyArts as, "...the excellent Plymouth Gilbert&Sullivan Fellowship" this short film was televised on several occasions on SkyArts 2.
The festival also saw the launch of The Wand'ring Minstrels - a cabaret company designed to cater for a range of occasions, venues and audiences.
In 2012 the Fellowship collaborated with the Band of HM Royal Marines for a live concert at The Hall for Cornwall. Not only was this an amazing experience, we raised thousands of pounds for the RNLI and the Fellowship. A similar concert will be staged in January 2013.
This year we will be performing HMS Pinafore in concert at various venues around the South West to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, see our What's On page (www.plymouthgilbertandsullivan.com) for details.
Our website offers further reading about our history and photo galleries with the option to buy our CD recorded with the Band of HM Royal Marines Plymouth and tickets for our forthcoming productions.
